Get a bright white smile with these teeth whitening procedures that are available at our office:
Dr Johanek and his team will need 3 appointments during the home whitening procedure.
At the first appointment, we will take impressions of the patient’s teeth, we then make perfectly fitted whitening trays.
On the second appointment we will fit the whitening trays and show the patient how to use them. The whitening trays will allow the patient to apply a whitening gel to the teeth while protecting the rest of the mouth from contact with the whitening gel. In most cases, these home whitening trays are worn 1 – 2 hours per night and the best results usually occur in one to three weeks.
During this time, the third appointment is made to monitor the progress of the treatment to make sure the results are the best possible.
Whitening with Bonding
Bonding is composite resin that is molded onto the tooth to change its color and to reshape it.
Depending on the color of the tooth we are trying to cover, the amount of resin needed may be substantial. This amount of material can make the tooth feel thick. The resin material can also stain and chip over time and necessitate redoing the bonding. This procedure works very well however, for temporarily repairing a fractured front tooth on an emergency basis.
Whitening using Crowns and Veneers
Porcelain veneers and crowns are like porcelain shells that fit on or over the tooth and are bonded onto the teeth.
They are used to whiten, reshape, repair broken teeth, lengthen teeth or they can be used to replace missing teeth. Most of these procedures will only require one appointment. These restorations are very durable and natural looking. They do not pick up stains like enamel and with proper care they will last along time.
There are a variety of products and procedures available to help you improve the look of your smile.
